Memorial Day Weekend

Three day weekends are such a blessing. They allow you to have a break from work and the craziness of life – which we needed. We had no engagements, so it made for an easy, laid back weekend. On Saturday we were able to sleep in, yes sleep in! We casually woke up, ate breakfast and enjoyed the slow start to the day. Later that day we ventured out of our home to the Heights area to go window shopping at the antique shops but our adventure was cut short as a torrential rain came over us and caused us to change our plans. That rain pour continued well into Monday, which allowed us to do stuff around the house and of course watch quite a few movies.

On Sunday we went to Brian and Brandon’s high school graduation dinner. I am still in shock that they are going to college, I know this makes me sound like I’m old, but I can vividly remember them as small cuddly babies, well its obvious that’s no longer the case these boys are tall and ready to start the adventure of “college life,” ahh memories…

Marriage Conference

This past weekend Emilio and I attended a Weekend to Remember Conference held by Family Life part of Campus Crusades. Although we did not learn lots of new material that we had not already been exposed to it was great to keep the principles top of mind. We did get some nuggets of info regarding parenting. Aside from the conference we had a date night on Sat. and on Sunday we went to the pool to enjoy the rare"non-humid" weather in Houston.

Trip to the Oxbo - Chapel Hill, Texas

A month ago Emilio and I went to Kenny's land lease in Chapel Hill, Texas - about an hour or so away from Houston. We started our day going to the Bluebonnet festival, then enjoyed riding the 4 wheelers. We finished the day hanging out by the bonfire making smores.

Trip to Piedras Negras, Mexico

Emilio, Ivan, Yvonne, Jacob, mom and myself went to Mexico to visit my grandmother and cousins. We had a blast seeing everyone and also seeing how much my cousins have grown up.We had delicious food - as always. You can see photos of my cousins, unfortunately the photo of my grandmother did not come out so I will get my cousins to take her photo so I can post it for you all to see.
