You're so vain

While at the mall in the shoe department my little sweet pea was restless in her stroller so I let her out of her stroller to crawl around us...but instead she b-lined to the mirror and started admiring/talking to herself....and then she crawled to another mirror and so on...she was crawling from mirror to mirror and being silly. Too bad my phone does not have video --it was hilarious.

Fun times with Grandma

Emilio has been out of town so mom and I have been having quality time and of course Kennedy loves when grandma is at the house. Today after mom got out of work we went to the park and we put Kennedy on the slide...she's still not too into the slide but she sure liked climbing up the slide.

We had fun playing for quite some time and finally had to call it quits. Tomorrow we are planning a fun day with a start at the farmer's market and then a little shopping and end it with play time at the park. Hope everyone has a great weekend. (photos aren't as crisp since these were taken with my phone)

Las Vegas Baby!

Kennedy enjoying a nap by the pool.

Two weeks ago Kennedy and I tagged along with Emilio to a trade conference in Las Vegas. I was a bit concerned about traveling to Vegas WITH a baby, but I have to say it all turned out quite well...with some careful planning of course!

While he was in the conference Kennedy and I went to a little gym and music classes which she loved. The hotel we stayed in has an impressive childcare facility so I was able to sun bath while Kennedy played with other kiddos. We were even able to sneak in some bowling with other conference attendees (the bowling alley was also at the hotel...Red Rock Casino is HUGE).

Since we rented a car most if not all our time was spent off the strip in Summerlin a suburb of Vegas which to my surprise was quite nice and chic...and best of all family friendly.

On the weekend we took a trip to Hoover Dam which was so impressive....it made us dizzy when we looked down at the dam...something we weren't expecting! We also went to Red Rock Canyon and we were impressed by how beautiful it was. Overall it was a great trip and we'll be doing it again next year as the conference will be there once again!

Mother's Day in Mexico

My grandmother Dolores was more than excited to spend time with Kennedy. We are blessed that at 95 years old she is healthy!!!

Our little princess was having a blast!

I saw a childhood friend that I had not seen in about 15 years.

We had a gentleman come serenade my grandmother...singing some of her favorite songs. In this picture are my cousins and their children.

Weekend Adventures

Hat on....
Hat off.

This week was crazy for the Castillo family. Dad was working late several days and yesterday he had a 4 hour commute to work (he went to Dallas and back on the same day). He left at 3am Friday and got home at 11:30 pm...boy was he tired. So needless to say Kennedy did not get much time with her daddy this week so she and I were so looking forward to the weekend.

We had talked about having a picnic at the park and just enjoy the outdoors this weekend but late Friday afternoon I was not sure that we'd be able to go to the park because the clouds were rolling in and we were expected to have a rainy weekend. But the Lord heard my prayers and gave us the most perfect day...there was not a cloud in the sky today!

Emilio's cousin Cynthia and her son Ethan joined us in on the fun. We went to Whole Foods to grab a delish lunch and ate under the shade at Discovery Green Park. Fun was had by all.

Sometimes she talks with only one side of her mouth and its just too funny.

Bubbles

This weekend was pretty low key since in rained quite a bit on Sunday but Saturday we took Kennedy to a Gymboree class. We arrived early and had time to sit with some of the other kids and Kennedy was such a social butterfly so much so that the teacher told us "her comes trouble". I think she had more fun playing with the other kids that listening to all the singing from the teacher.

In the video the teacher was rolling balls to each child and Kennedy was scooting over to get another kids' ball so I pulled her back. She was happy once it was her turn.

The second video was taken just a few minutes ago as she has begun to pull up on the couch and even inching a bit alongside the couch...of course it ends with her falling and sadness ensues as she was unable to keep playing with her toy.

Last week we took her to the park and she loved the swing.

Mirror Mirror

Yesterday we had a busy day. In the morning we went to music class which she loved but she was more interested in playing than going along with the songs. Later that afternoon we went to the Children's Museum which has a section for little ones and we had a blast. There were lots of little ones and she constantly was yelling at them or touching them. She also learned how to open and close a door on a little toy bus and she did that again and again.

The museum brings back memories as I can recall vividly when my dad took my brother and I. I fell in love with the part of the museum that has the grocery store...its filled with small little grocery carts, cash register and lots of pretend groceries...once Kennedy gets a little bigger I'll be taking her there.

She had us laughing quite a bit especially when she starting kissing her reflection in the mirror. (The video shows her doing that) We only stayed in one section so we'll be going back to the museum as she has lots of exploration left to do.
