Kennedy Marie Castillo

Our daughter Kennedy was born July 24, 2009 at 2:07 p.m. in Houston, TX. Labor was much better than I had expected. I was so scared throughout the pregnancy but once I got the epidural I was golden. I was updating my FB status, watching a marathon of Law & Order episodes and just hanging out with my hubby and mom.

Its been a little over two weeks and I think I'm getting a hang of mommyhood. I do lose track of what day of the week it is but I love taking care of my little one.

Yesterday we had a great moment as I was able to get rid of feeding her formula and just breasfed her so I am super excited that I will be able to breastfeed. I noticed that she's sleeping better, less crying and her bowel movements are regular.

We Are Pregnant!

This week begins my ninth week in our preganacy. I'm still a bit sluggish but have begun to feel much better this week. I've been lucky to experience almost no morning sickness of which I'm thankful. Aside from that all is well and in a couple of months we'll find out the sex of our baby.

Seeds of Change

Emilio and I are embarking on a new adventure....working together! On July 23 I will be joining him at Timeline Logistics (new website pending). Yes, we will be working together...but we will have separate offices....in order to keep sane.

I never envisioned myself owning a business but I do feel a bit liberated from the never ending rat race of being somewhere from 9-5 PM Monday through Friday. I do realize that

I'm gaining flexibility but I'am undertaking much greater responsibilities....I mean there's no safety net....it's all on us. But of course we both know that the Lord is guiding our steps so we shall see what twists and turns this adventure takes us.

I will keep you posted!

Political Seesaw

So the Texas and Ohio primaries were not as decisive as I had hoped keeping the Democratic nomination undecided. From my understanding of where we are today is that Clinton is down by 101 delegates, this of course does not count the "super delegates" which are somewhat confusing to me but that's another story. Whomever reaches the 2,025 delegates first will(should) get the nomination. Currently Hillary needs 319 delegates and Obama needs 261 delegates, but this does not count the "super delegates." Clinton has 243 super delegates and Obama has 199.5 (OK how did they get to .5?). There are 351.5 still up for grabs.

And there are still primaries pending with a total of 75 delegates making it clear that the "super delegates" will determine the nominee.

Ah did you get all that? I'm still trying to do the math.

Make it work!

I'm obsessed with this season's Project Runway, its fabulous! Maybe its the kid in me who always wanted to be a designer and as I a watch I can daydream of what life would have been if that had been my path...but its not so I guess I can continue dreaming and of course watching Project Runway.

But all that is great has to come to an end and tonight each designer will give us their best designs and hopefully the judges will make the right decision. My pick is Christian, he does have the fiercest designs and hair!

Flying High

Emilio needed a little more excitement in his life so he decided to jump off a plane last weekend. As you can see he had a blast!
