Kennedy 14 months

Things got a little messy.
Is that tomato sauce all over my face?
Heading out with daddy.
Let's get physical!
She's wearing my headband.

She's walking a lot more, still a little wobbly but a huge difference.

Learned to walk just in time for school.

Today was her first day at St. Luke's Methodist Day School and we can say she loved it. Wait let me back up. This past weekend she started walking and every day she's been able to go just a little bit further!

She loves affirmation and after she makes it to her destination she looks around to see if we saw her and waits for her applause...oh she's just like her momma when it comes to one of her love languages.

Now back to today's first day. When we entered the building and she saw the big kids she was yapping at them and you can see in her eyes she was ready for us to put her down so she could play.

Once we got into her room she got down dad's leg and started to play. We took a few pics and gave her a kiss and frankly I'm not even sure she missed us or noticed we had left the room. When I picked her up she was all smiles. Once in the car she was out for the count - they wore her out!

Below is a video from yesterday of her walking.

The Glamourous Life

No paparazzi photos please!

Kennedy loves her shades but she especially loves mommy's shades. I've resorted to letting her play with these cheapo shades to keep her entertained (funny the shades match her outfit).

Tomorrow she starts school so we'll post pics of her first day. We have video of her walking as this started this weekend but dad has not seen her walking (he was in Portland visiting Lee and Cadence) so we'll post the video once he gets a firsthand viewing of her in action.

Below is a clip of her dancing.

Ahhh...agua.

A few weeks ago we gave Kennedy a water bottle. She loved drinking from the bottle and had us laughing quite a bit. Enjoy!

Finally I have shoes!

It took a year for her to finally will keep her shoes on...I think she caught on that we all wear shoes and wouldn't you know it she wants to be like us big folks! Everyone asks if she's walking and nope not yet...I can see that it will be soon but she still holds on to the table, wall or couch to move around.

We went to her yearly check-up not long ago and her stats are: 75% on height and 25% on weight so tall and skinny. Aside from that we've just seen her grow by leaps and bounds in what she does and her interaction with us. The other day she said "gracias" but it was more like "gacias."

Last week we dealt with getting rid of the pacifier and at first boy did she fight going down for a nap, it took about 4 days of her taking only one nap before she gave in. Now she's back on track taking two naps. She's still having a hard time getting to sleep but she's doing much better and I'm so glad to not having to bring a pacifier everywhere we go!

Next week she starts day school two days a week and this Friday we'll be going to visit her classroom and her teacher. I'm super excited and know that she will have so much fun with the kiddos.

If you click on the pic you can see her bottom teeth, she's got her top two teeth coming in as well.

Daddy's girl.

As every day passes Kennedy is melting her daddy's heart more and more. Its precious to see how in love she is with Emilio. They have so much fun playing around and she gets super excited when he gets home from work.

This past weekend we all went to Memorial Park. Emilio played soccer and I walked around the park, but as we returned to the football field Kennedy was all smiles and cheered her daddy. Little does Emilio know that this love she has for her daddy will only grow stronger. As you can see in the pic she doesn't even mind that he's sweaty!

Summer Time in the City

Yesterday I took Bradley (the 5-year old I've been babysitting) and Kennedy to Discovery Green (a park in the middle of downtown that has huge play area, mechanical sail boats, dining, and fountains for the kids to play in). Kennedy did not want to get wet but that did not stop her from having fun.
My happy girl.
My silly girl.
Hair is out of control!
I love this bathing suit.
Always standing on her toes.
